PS: Febs, as far as the AlloyTec 175 goes, it doesn't feel like it has much more grunt than the VY's Ecotec, and the electronic throttle DOES feel a bit weird, but its still nice. I wish the engine didn't sound so bloody wussy though. While i'd hate for Holden to put a rice-style fartcan on it, i still think it could sound a bit more intimidating. :P

Also, is there a programme for Windows which will allow me to automatically fill in text fields e.g. automatically inserting a username and password on my work computer which insists on asking for this information nearly every time you view a web page?

Hi,
In my quest for longer battery life, I diligently, run down the battery once a month, except this time I left the battery with very little charge to drain over night. Next morning, I plugged it into the computer but nothing happened, itunes recognised the phone but it wasn't taking a charge, soon after the yellow triangle appeared "Charging on this device is not supported." Funny, that's never happened before, I must have really run down the battery. Not to worry, plugged into the wall socket, in no time it was fully charged: thought nothing of it. Today though, with still 50% charge remaining, same error message. What gives?
Any suggestions?

I'm looking at buying one of these:
Video Sender: Wireless TV Transmitter/Receivers for Foxtel and Pay-TV Transmission Between Rooms

Has anyone used one?
Also, I have an airport extreme running a wireless network, would the 2.4Ghz or 5.8Ghz model be better? (Will either interfere?)

I'm wanting to buy one to relocate my TV, away from the aerial point that the foxtel uses. (Obviously the foxtel box will have to stay with the point).

Thanks.

Hi, I am very new to Apple, and I have the loan of an "IMAC" and like it very much.... And all of you went Doh!! How many times have we haerd that before.......

Anyway I have to give the "IMAC back now, so I am looking at purchasing a mac book, but one thing I want to do is upgrade the graphics card from the std Geforce 9400 to the GTX285

I have googled and found it is a possible request. This link tells me so
EVGA GeForce GTX 285 - Apple Store (Australia)

So I when to "buy online" and I find that is no option to upgrade yr graphic card.So does mean I need to go to the Apple shop, or have I got all my facts wrong.

My 1st post here so please forgive me if I broken any rules. But I tried to use the forrum search but I got Nil results

Thankyou for time and replies

Cheers

ID3 tag specs vs Car Head Unit?

Since...

I have Pioneer head unit from a couple of years ago. It has USB but not iPod support, something I never had an issue with until recently...

Since moving to Mac I have two issues, firstly all the .song.mp3 files. The head unit see's these files and skips over them. Not a major issue except that I'm playing every second "song".

The real issue, however, is that random songs just don't play. The player just seems to stall trying to read the file, hit skip and away you go.
I have checked everything from file name length/characters, same for all teh ID3 tag bits, still no joy. Encodes are all within spec and all over the shop, so it's not a particularly high or low rate thats causing me issues. I was at my wits end trying to figure this out...

..until tonight, in a flash of inspiration I considered that maybe Album art is the problem...

As it turns out getting an ID3 tag editor for Mac isn't all that easy so I took teh quick and dirty way out and used MP3Tag for Windows under parallels:
Mp3tag - the universal Tag Editor (ID3v2, MP4, OGG, FLAC, ...)

First, I copied all files to another folder, then opened up two songs I knew to have issues, delete album art and BAM, the files now play. Checked both the old files and the new files, sure enough the old ones are still screwy.

For funzies I thought I would not change anything but force MP3Tag to rewrite all the tags... Guess what... now all the songs work fine, album art and all.

So this got me thinking, since moving to OS X I have spent alot of time in iTunes editing tags and adding art where is was missing and it seems to be these files that are having issues. What I want to do is keep a play list in iTunes then just drag those files to a memory stick (which I do).

The dirty fix is to then throw this stick into a Windows environment and a ID3 tag editor (or the Mac equivalent) and quickly re-save all the tags.
Ideally though I would like to fix the problem at the iTunes level if there is a switch or setting or something I'm missing.

So has anyone seen this problem before?
Know of a way around it?

Last resort would be to simply buy a new head unit that has full iPhone support, but then I already have a few head units on the shelf, don't really want to add to the collection if I don't need to :P
