Hi Krolly,
I'm sorry to say that when I was looking into using Skitch got to point 5 in the 'Terms Of Service'. "Access to and Use of Your Computational Facilities".
and I started to wonder just how much I wanted to upload pictures anyway.
Call me paranoid but, There is something to be said for keeping your facilities to yourself!
I would be happy to hear from some knowledgeable people on computer security.

I feel secure from viruses because I practice safe sex and only use a mac. (Not at the same time).
I suspect the low-life of this world use pcs and consequently keep their viruses and nasty habits within their own circle.
Am I deluded or am I safe from the worst these people can throw at me? Can baddies hack in to my life through Skitch? More importantly, would they want to? What's to be gained?

OK. I still have not been able to post a picture on an msn forum elsewhere so am I going to have to (gulp ) buy an el cheapo Dell computer off the internet? Never had a pc before and I am disappointed that I may have to resort to this. I am constantly on the move around Australia so finding or inheriting a second hand one is not an option.
In spite of all the advice on this thread I still can't insert a picture using my mac. I know I am not the only one who has never managed this, but I need reassurance that others do it with ease – ie that this advice is practical and not just theory.

In case someone twigs to what my problem may stem from, Phoenix Owners Group is the the site I have been practising on.

I'm not thick, but wasting/spending/enjoying time chatting on the internet is a new passtime for me. Once I grasp the concept I'll run with it.

Please help.

Please forgive me for bumping this up, but I suspect I missed out by asking for help on a Sunday.

Considering that all the tags on that forum you're trying to use aren't doing anything, it would seem that such code isn't used on the MSN forums.

No.
Have you and did it work?

Yesterday I turned to the dark side.

I went into Esperance and bought a Compaq PC. I can't even fathom how to log on to the internet using it. The screen is full of words and arrows and then my cursor freezes.
I have been using Macs since they originally came on the market. I learnt to use Illustrator on a classic. Before Macs I had never used a computer and never thought I could or would. But I found out quickly enough that any idiot can work a Mac. So foolproof in fact that 3 years ago I bought my computer illiterate mother a purple iMac and she trolls the internet daily. She now uses a lampshade iMac.
So, after 20 years mastering "computers", I am struggling to fathom a pc.

All this so we can post pictures of broken caravan parts on a forum of sympathetic fellow caravaners!

I still find it hard to believe that my wonderful iBook isn't up to the task.

I thought I'd give Skitch a try. How do you get rid of the two grey squares overlaying your captures?

When I capture something it imposes two squares on the image.

I dunno why they were there, but I managed to get rid of them. Not to worry, thanks.
