I actually think it's so awful that it's good :P As long as they don't keep it for a long time, it could be a good move.

In the good old days - which were actually the bad old days - along side Vegemite and Marmite and the later-to-be-introduced Promite, there was a competing spreadable black salty yeast based product (as if there weren't enough already) calling itself: Parwill - who were in direct competition with Marmite - on the basis that...

Your Ma might... but your Pa will.

Get it? Ma might but Pa will.

Oh those awfully sneaky marketing campaign boffins, eh?

What a frightfully tippey wheeze I say old jock strap.

And Pawill lasted for nearly a month... in QLD, I think.

It's a brilliant advert really because it makes absolutely no sense at all - as are all advertisements displaying happy dancing chickens and piglets jumping for joy and orgasmic bliss in the prospect of being VIOLENTLY SLAUGHTERED with blunt metal instruments... for "you!" -> big happy smile =)

Bet Apple won't object to the name-even though there are a lot of "i" apps, Apple is not involved in the food industry.

I quite like the name-contrary to other people's opinion.

Thay started advertising it on TV in my area tonight...

"When we released the new vegemite 3 months ago we also asked you how you like to have it (possibly referring to the vegemite sensus which was done before the new vegemite was revealed), and you told us iSpread 2. The rest is history."

I noticed a post on a website mentioning that Breville trademarked 'isnack' in 2000. Maybe they will have something to say about it then!

It's a different product category, I don't think their trademark covers snack foods.

Edit: This is in its trademark details on ipaustralia.gov.au.

Class: 11 Cooking apparatus including snack makers and sandwich toasters; parts and accessories in this class for cooking apparatus

I'd have preferred if they went with the name "Cat's Arse In A Jar" that one news commenter entered in the competition.
