Kyle Sandilands suspended over Magda fat jibe

THIS was the "Breaking News" in red banner across my NineMSN web page just now. Fracking hell....

I don't really hate many people, but Kyle Sandilands is a grub. He's up there with Ballmer for people I'd like to see painfully embarrassed.

a) Sandilands is a fuckwit....he reminds me of a friend I used to have. He was a fuckwit too.

b) "news" by definition is anything that is new information, not necessarily important information and unfortunately we live in a society that thrives on gossip and shit like some b grade celebrity get engaged over something that might actually affect their lives.

Sandilands IS an asshole but I think he has been slightly misrepresented...he was saying that Magda is still fat (she is), and that she still could loose weight if she stopped eating (hence concentration camp analogy).

The SMH article makes it out like he said she SHOULD go to a concentration camp

"2Day FM for his comments that Magda Szubanski would lose more weight in a concentration camp."

This reminds me of the Chasers 'controversy' RE: Children. People misrepresenting what they say and just going crazy because there is humour related to some 'serious event', without looking at it objectively and see who is really meant to be insulted (Magda and in the Chasers case the starlight foundation), not people in concentration camps or the children, as these conservative radio stations would have you believe.

I am going to put my hand up and say that I sat alongside my gf watching some crappy show the other night where they were praising what'shername for losing all this weight.... she's still waaaay overweight for her height.

She's 5ft something tiny and 85kg - I'm just off 6ft and I weigh 79kg now - when I was 85kg I was showing as obese on BMI scales.

Well done on losing some weight - but you really need to keep losing more.

Dunno man… I’ve stopped visiting many websites to avoid hearing about Z-list celebrities. No, not Perez Hilton sites—more like what-are-supposed-to-be-news sites.

When I need some safe for work titillation, I go to news.com.au to find out who's having an affair with how, sex tips, what women think, the latest hot student-teacher affair gossip. News.com.au… The Fairfax sites are only slightly better. I used to think news.com.au had news, while CNet was a waste of the domain news.com. Now, at least news.com is tolerable.

I wish there was a site that started out like news.google.com.au where you can sort of select how much of each news type you want. And then have blacklists that I can create, or subscribe to (like Adblock). So that I can blacklist "Michael Jackson" for the next 3 months at least, and the word "Gosselin", and all Murdoch sites forever.

Just the other day the front page of Melbournes biggest selling paper, The Dirty Document was all about the expletives used by one coach to another. It saddens me to think this is more important to most of Melbournes news paper readers than news that will affect our lifes and many others, rather than the antics of a coach to a team of cashed up yobs that kick a pig skin around for a job.

I partly agree, and would probably let it slide if it was anyone other than Sandliands. But he is a wanker of the highest order and I would like anything to get him off the airways/out of Australian society.
