Default Just a little boast...

So some of you may know I am a cake decorator, well my cake made it onto Great White Snark yesterday! Only noticed it when i checked my stats tonight.

But it wasnt all glowing, I spelt Untinni wrong and apparently Jawas say more than just one word. But what do I know? I'm just a girl who love cake. And Macs. And rocks. But not Star Wars.

Utinni! Finally… A Star Wars Jawa Cake - Geeky Cake of the Week Great White Snark

Star Wars Jawa Cake | Geeky Gadgets

Anyway, Since its been on GWS its been picked up a few places too, Geek Gadget and a few of those crap websites that just do a feed of popular things on the internet.

Funnily enough, this isnt my first time having a famous cake. I also had the famous fail whale cupcake on twitter thats been on The Fail Whale Fan Club and a few other blogs.

I'm feeling an untapped market here....

I'm with you there on the fact about not knowing much about Star Wars macgrrl, I'm in the same boat.
Given the fact you're a cake decorator, "Great White Shark" should cut you some slack! You've made an awesome cake and it was appreciated.

That is possibly the most awesome cake I have ever seen!

Quick google of Utini vs Utinni shows that there are just as many hits for one as the other. Besides, I always thought it was a Zulu word that they threw in there for no reason, which is spelled Uthini and means "What are you saying?!" So GWS got it wrong too

Wow that's awesome How big was it, did you need an extra huge oven (or was it layers of cake "carved" into the Jawa shape?)

For your next Trick, do a TARDIS cake. I've seen lots of them where the doors of the Police Box were flat, but a full size TARDIS would be awesome

I bet it was horrible cutting the Jawa's head off!

Haha I knew you guys would appreciate it!

Colbs: I dont mind so much, I had to watch it on youtube to get an idea of what it looked like and for days we coudnt remember what it was called! If he tried to call me out on something cake related though it would be on like donkey kong
Leon: You are about a month too late
Mitty: I'd love to do a tardis cake, thats wouls be very cool and actually fairly simple to do I think...
W2ttsy: I could! As long as you pay for my airfare Or the boat trip.. I think I'd like to do that one day.

And he was baked in 4 tins, 3x 5inch round tins and 1x 4 inch for his head. I then put them all together and carved him down to shape and took those off cuts (the ones that @specialhell didnt eat and mixed them with some rum and ganache and formed it into the point of his robe.

He also had a dowel from the bottom board all the way thru for stability. He was very loved by all the geeks at the party

How did you learn cake decorating, more importantly how does one learn cake decorating?

Emily's Bellycake, how long would that have taken you? That just amazing.

There are classes you can go to, courses, online forums but I am also a chef so I guess that helps! Its the one thing I am really good at.

Emily's belly took me a few days, Its not a hard cake, just alot of fiddling with fondant. Which is just like playdough! I never really graduated past kindergarten

I know of a couple of places in Melbourne.

There's a place called Merryday near Southland. I hope they're good because my fiancé and I are booked in for the next lot of modern cake classes. Merryday Cake Decorating Supplies and classes

There's also Planet Cake. I think they're a more serrious school. They have courses in other states too. Planet Cake : Melbourne Cake Decorating Courses

It's taking a lot of self control to not rush out and play with fondant before the course starts...
