That is the most hilarious thing I've seen so far this year.

Good find.

have to agree - we, as a species, have a serious problem in how we consider other species (ours to do with as we please)

Ho is this any different to getting enjoyment out of exploiting another person?

I bet those astronuts were the sort of kids who'd push their cats off the verandah just to see if it lands on its feet.

Not ... funny.

Assholes. There's no scientific value in that at all, it's just cruel. If that really is Nasa, it's appalling.

Now, if they'd thrown a baby, that would have been MUCH funnier.

If you put that cat into a closed box, with ventilation holes you can't see through, is the cat still weightless?

Is there a flask of poison, a geiger counter and a hammer involved?

You'd have to be worried about the cat's back looking at how contorted it gets... I know they have the ability to spin mid-air in order to land on their feet, but that thing looks like it's a corkscrew as it can't determine which way is up...

Mmm. I wonder if the cat has been de-clawed... I remember the first time I watched it - I was shocked not to be seeing blood go everywhere... If you did THAT to my cat, you'd lose an arm trying to catch it again...

It depends as to how much of the movement was caused by the cat and how much was inertia. I would say the cat did a flick like it normally would but without the presence of gravity it kept spinning.

Not ... funny.
If you tied a piece of toast with jam onto a cat's back and then dropped it over some new white carpet, I wonder which way up it would land.
Would the fabled ability of cats to land on their feet be sufficient to overcome the legendary might of Murphy's Law?
There is only one way to find out.
Sadly I'm all out of cats and my floors are all wooden.
