Quantum of Solace... worst film title ever?

When I heard the title of the new James Bond flick I thought perhaps it was April 1, but no, the latest outing for the superspy is indeed "Quantum of Solace". Apparently based on an original Ian Fleming short story of the same name, in cas eyou were wondering what they were smoking.

Anyway, I figured we could have some fun with this, and come up with some alternate titles of our own.

James Bond and Harry Potter meet Godzilla
James Bond and The Bambi Gambit
James Bond: Loud Shirt day at MI5 Headquarters
James Bond goes to Monte Carlo (again).

It has grown on me. I love it now. Using 'quantum' in much many more sentences now. IE. 'Would you like sauce on your pie Sir?' Just a small quantum thanks!

Who cares really, its gonna kick arse no matter what its called.

Agree. At first I was like WTF?

But it is steeped in meaning. And I guess with Daniel Craig's excellent portrayal of Bond in a different light, a deeper meaning has to be conveyed.

I like the title, it's growing on me. Yes, it's different, but I think it's fitting. And yes, the trailer is HOT! I cannot wait for this to be out in the cinemas. I was very nervous when Craig took over Brosnan, but was thoroughly satisfied with his performance in Casino Royale. So only higher hopes and expectations with this latest edition!

The Quantum of Solace is a little social theory in the short story of the same name, which reckons that humans will put up with grave mistreatment as long as they have that quantum of solace the keep them going.

Of course, on the character in question loses that tiny bit of optimism, they go to a pretty mean and fitting revenge.

And well worth reading too, with the victim winning out in the end.

The Bond short stories - Octopussy, View to a Kill, Living Daylights, Quantum of Solace etc - are definitely worth reading and far better than the film "versions" of the same which only seem true to the name.
