I'm listening to podcasts regularly now.
I like it, but not enough to go back and listen to old podcasts (I like relevant topics/news).
A big LOL for "Aslan".

New prestigious DS games cost about $79 and it's normal to see them around the $60-$70 range (or $50 for those 'brain training' type games).
Offcourse one could purchase them from Play-asia.com for cheaper US prices as there is no region protection for DS games.
All in all, another good podcast, but I still miss the earlier ones.

Still an Apple fan but cannot forgive them for pulling FireWire support from the MacBooks!

I don't know what you guys have done but I can now download the podcasts in iTunes without it cutting out. Just did it twice to make sure the first wasn't a fluke. Much easier this time.
Oh yes I like the buttons too. Very smart.

Hey Podcasters, compliments to you on what you've done to the podcasts recently. I listen to a lot of podcasts and for me you've now moved from "listen if I can be bothered" to "I want to listen".
Why?
IMO:- You've obviously paid a lot of attention to audio quality ... it sounds like you're using some quality kit ... but you're also following some basic broadcasting rules like not talking over each other, keeping your voices at a constant volume
this wasnt the case with the earlier podcasts (nor with heaps of other wannabes)
- Maybe this is related to the kit, but your voices come across as broadcast friendly
dulcet tones
seriously
you have good voices for broadcast
- It sounds like youre doing a bit of preparation
IMO the biggest podcast turnoff is hmm, what shall we talk about today
if Im going to give you my ears, then I want you to have done more than just turn up and shoot the bull
- You seem to be working pretty well as a team
the repartee is good
the gentle jibes are funny
but generally you broadcast the MTAU ethos of respect
- You talk less about the podcast and more about the wider tech news
you come across as having expertise in the topics on which you talk
and when you dont have the knowledge you dont pretend, you just acknowledge it and move along. The content is interesting and informative.
I was a sceptic, but now a believer. Keep up the good work.

Wow thanks for the comments - I appreciate it and I'm sure the other guys do too!
In regards to kit ( here's a thread about the gear we use), we do have a good setup which helps a lot I assume (it helps being a gear junkie ). We're stabilising the group now and it seems the 4 of us seem to get along well and know each other's tells and things like that.

MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) is not a 3D version of a CT (Computed Tomography) scan.
Both can do 3D, one uses magnetism and the other X-Rays.
PET (Positron Emission Tomography) scans involve decay to form positrons.
Anyway, great podcast so far, I'm 20 mins in

Well you can tell when someone is bored with a topic, or wants to move on or when they have more to say without having to talk over them. So it kinda is like poker, but it's more just having hanged around someone, you get to know them and either work with or work around them instead of being with a stranger and you have to shoot for the lowest common denominator.

That's right. CT uses XRays to generate it's images, and the tomogram bit (the T) means that the detector moves around the patient while scanned (they can do this with plain x-rays as well not often now because of CT though). With more powerful computers and scanners that can take thinner slices now (not sure what it's down to but it's a couple of mm cuts I think), more info can be gathered and they now make 3D reconstruction of CT images (and they look awesome - I'll post one of a vertebral spine if anyone is interested)...
