in the process of listening to it now....
just a comment on the whole iPhone 3G debate and the cheap price.
i think you guys have summed it up.
it is now a smartphone that appeals to businesses (for various reasons) and is cheap!

Apple have just come out with ALL this extra stuff for businesses, so a lot of businesses now are going to be buying BULK iphones, preloading all their crap on to it and attaching it to THE business phone account.
10 million between all these business purchases and personal purchases is going to be fairly easy....

Also, I feel like a jerk for how I talk about Steve's health, but he really didn't look well. Apple's statements since are reassuring.

Also also, here's the inane forum babbling I made on The Orange Sofa while recording.

"In fear of WiFi"

What a quote that is! You guys are cruel, but funny.

I guess it's FTC that says that if you are a stockbrokerage then you'd never look at Mac because it's too expensive to put one on every desktop.

Stuff like this uses ultra high end gear. (sorry to break your argument) Sun Microsystems pretty much rode this horse into town and still sit on it. It's a bad example because computer systems in that environment are mission critical - therefore only the very best, most reliable systems are put in place.

A better argument would be call centres - the biggest worry there would be security, where a Mac would cost a significant proportion of a desk jockeys wages. Hell the crappy dell and HP systems we had in the centre I worked in were constantly getting torn open and having their RAM pinched, though this was Liverpool.

Really don't know if this is where I'm meant to post views etc. Never listened to the podcast before and it's almost got me wanting to join in the discussion out loud!
