Probably the most messed up podcast I've ever listened to. Man, it was difficult to tell what's going on in there. Must have been fun to do but boy…

Not wanting to be too critical of something I've not contributed anything to, but waaaaaaaaay too much talking over the top of each other, and as such I found it hard to listen to it. Had to turn it off after a few minutes, didn't even get to listen to the the bits I wanted to listen to!
Let's chalk this one up to mega excitement and mega pissed-off-ed-ness...

You've all caught on to exactly why we don't like having more than four people on.
At one stage it was going to be SIX!

I can make my own thread regarding this if you want - or we can take it to the " Are Macs ready for the enterprise" thread.
Personally I think that they are, just to clarify that. My only concerns would be that it's higher up front costing gear and sticky fingered staff would always be on my mind.
Oh and if someone lives near Decryption, can they make sure that the Borg have not paid him a visit, cheers! ;o)

Listened to this at work last night and I have to say that I didn't mind the talking over each other, but I thought that the swearing was out of control again and not really necessary. I'm not a prude, but I found it to be grating after a while. My parents have just started getting into Macs, and my dad especially into podcasts. I can't recommend the Mactalk podcast to my parents as they will find the swearing a little bit too much.
What happened to trying to keep it clean? Was that only for that single episode, or is it something that is supposed to continue.

On one hand, we want to be ourselves and express what we think. On the other hand we have to try hard not to swear - it doesn't come naturally to me at least, I just talk and whatever comes out, comes out.
It is in the back my mind constantly, trust me. Will it improve? Maybe - if I let some slip every now and then, I won't apologise for being myself.

Are the podcasts marked as having adult language in them?

Yeah, they're marked as explicit (always have been).

Then why do some people find it a problem? I've never understood this. If you don't like what is on the telly turn it over. If you don't like that new gore fest movie don't go. If you don't like PC's don't buy one.
If you don't like swearing on a podcast and it's marked as explicit then don't listen.
Really... would you (not you Decryption) complain if you hired the movie Shaving Ryan's Privates and found it to not be starring Tom Hanks, and for it to have contained scenes that contain lots of flesh colours?
I thought that Mary Whitehouse was dead!

Yeah, it was supposed to continue.
Sure, the episodes are marked as explicit, but there is no reason hosts cant partake in a little self censoring...
For the record, the swear count for 57 minutes was:
Alex (al aero) ; 21
Chris (xenex) : 18
Chris (arkenstone) : 6
Anthony (decryption) : 1
Me : 1
Having just listened to it now, I agree with Rasta, and thunderstruck, its the worst podcast we've done.

I like the podcast, but I find that some of the swearing is just pointless. I swear in general day to day discussion, but the F-count in this podcast was excessively high. It just becomes grating after a while and feels like it is being used just for the hell of it. I'm not going to stop listening to the podcast, but feel that it would be better if the swearing was kept to a minimum or used to make an impact.
