MacTalk Podcast - Episode 28 - The 20th Anniversary Mac RULES

MacTalk Podcast - Episode 28 - The 20th Anniversary Mac RULES

Episode 28 is finally up after a little break and features Peter Wells (fulltimecasual), Scott Hone (scottgrot), Chris Menz (Xenex) and Anthony Agius (Decryption).

There's even a photo of the "studio" (I use that term loosely) thanks to Scott (also thank you Scott for the tram noises). Chris even put a silly video up on YouTube of using recording the podcast when we mentioned Vidnik.

Show notes:
  • .Mac/MobileMe/me.com - Microsoft Exchange Killer? (forum discussion)
  • 3G iPhone - data plan wars (forum discussion)
  • WWDC '08 - what else is going to happen besides 3G iPhone? (forum discussion)
  • Mac OS X 10.6?
  • 20th Anniversary Mac Freaks (forum discussion)
  • Google & Apple Uberpartnership
  • Re-designed notebooks or new hardware - probably not
  • WWDC 2006 & 2007 memories (forum WWDC 2006 thread, WWDC 2007 thread)
  • QuickTime 8/iTunes 8
  • Laptop docking station + tablet = modern Duo
  • 10.6 = no PPC support perhaps?
  • Mac OS 8.5 is just as good as OS X and Word 5.1 is the best version of Word ever
  • 20th Anniversary Mac returns
  • AppleTV hAx0r and aTV flash (link)
  • iPhone SDK = iPhone remote controller for AppleTV
  • Saft (link)
  • Quicksilver (link)
  • Knapsack (link)
  • iCooly (link)
  • Delicious Library 2 (link)
  • Vidnik (link)
  • US$200 iPhone - iPhone Nano/Cut Down Nano
  • The YouTube video Chris uploaded using Vidnik (YouTube)
  • Adelaide MacTalk Meet (forum thread)

Best line - They didn't look like mac users. They didn't have mac beards.
Great discussion and very fun.
Thanks

I burnt it to a disc because I wanted to listen on the way home and when iTunes searched CDDB it came up as Happy Birthday by Eric Clapton.

See Decryption, put TAM in the podcast title and the girls flock.

2-3 seconds of silence from what I hear!

I'm only about 40 minutes into it but I like it so far. Who's the non-regular doing all the talking? I like your nerd-dom.

What happened to the fourth dude? I'm not hearing much!

And enough Chris's on the show! Me, Kris, and now Chris - too much. My internet fan harem will get confused

I haven't listened to it yet, but there's a good chance that's me. Did I talk that much?!

I was so tired during recording, then went home and proceeded to develop a migrate. Perhaps I'm allergic to Decryption...
