Best podcast yet! (being a fanatic retro-gamer). In fact I've seriously considered starting up a podcast with other avid fans of old-school gaming. Probably a different topic.. but if anyone's keen, pm me.

Oh and by the way, www.romnation.net is in english, and has shitloads of roms too.

I also concur the whining about the iPod "dock" speaker things. Not only the Apple hifi but also the cheap, overpriced shite you can buy down at that normally retail around $150 upwards. I'm relatively sensitive to crappy speakers so haven't gone anywhere near those damn things. I have a home theater at home and an iMac and that's all I need to listne to music. (Check out my HT here which revolves around a Mac mini)

I am older than most of you i would imagine so I was playing my megadrive in my early 20's thru to 30's. there were some great games such as Landstalker and the Shining Force series. I was mainly an adventure/RPG kinda guy which is surprising I didn't get a SNES.

Loved the show and it was so retro until it just ended about the 1:03 mark when you started talking apps. Don't think I missed too much but was still annoying.

I'm the in between old school, as I grew up playing the Commodore 64. Some awesome shoot em ups on that platform, such as Parallax. And all those Epyx games.....Impossible Mission, Summer/Winter/California/World Games. Game playability imho was at its peak in the 80s :-) Nowadays its too much sizzle and not enough steak!

Meh.

I'd agree with you on the HiFi if I hadn't just got one for $360 from Dicky Smiths, unopened.

They are still the best dock speakers I've heard, and I guess I'm alone liking their look. Simple, not covered in logos and leds.

It blends in really nicely in my living room, and puts out one hell of a good sound, nothing I've heard can match it.
