MacTalk Podcast - Episode 12 - A Man and His Bike

MacTalk Podcast - Episode 12 - A Man and His Bike

Episode 12 is up, featuring Peter Wells (fulltimecasual), Anthony Agius (Decryption) and Mike Atherton (g5agogo).

Back to a more familiar format, Mike joins Pete and I in the studio, with a full load of Maudite - excellent first impression! He also brings to the table an interest in recent mobile broadband developments. I bring up my Mac Pro Mini rant, and Pete likes his DS Lite. Oh, and far too much time is spent talking about the election for a podcast apparently to do with Macs.

Subscribe to the podcast via iTMS, or if you've already added it, refresh your podcast list inside iTunes.

The AAC bookmarks with the URL's and images were great! Keep up the awesome work. It's a shame that more podcasters don't use this feature.

It takes a long time to make - about an hour to listen to the podcast, place in the chapters in the relevant sections, then googling for appropriate images, placing them into Garageband, then placing in URLs for the links too.

That's probably why most podcasters dont use it

Is there a chance you can make a feed for the AAC version. I would just download through iTunes then a direct link from the webpage?

Great podcast guys. Less swearing methinks from fulltimecasual though compared to previous episodes. Not sure I'm too happy about that. The beer sounded good though.

BIG!!! snaps to andrew too, I've been reading your blog for a while now mate and oh for a greenie like me it's just *swoon*

I seem to recall you saying maybe last episode that you use Ubercaster? Can you confirm/deny? Is it worth the 79 bucks they're asking for it? Why not Garageband + Audio Hijack for the Skype? And what sort of mics are you guys using?

It's all because I've got plans to start my own podcast soon

Thanks guys

I am thinking about making it a proper website soonish, with domain and all. Will hopefully be able to then provide a whole bunch of articles then as well as perhaps a discussion forum where fellow greenies/lefties can have a rant

@boxdog,

re:swearing: i still swear like a trooper on my own podcast, i just try and be a bit more professional on mactalk.

ubercaster beats garageband in a few areas, but probably still isnt worth the $79.

we use audio technica mics, with a behringer mixer, in an imac. but the biggest improvement on audio came when i bought a little headphone monitor thingy which allowed us to hear when we went to far from the mics.

in terms of starting your own podcast, if you're in melbourne, dm me.

PM sent!

You're probably right but I'm still looking for something to patch through the audio to/from Skype. Audio Hijack Pro alone is $39 so for double the price I get.. well, 1.75 more product, or something.

If that wasn't a plug for the FTC podcast I dont know what is. Subscribed

Cheers, spargo. FTC and Decryption made it a very comfortable experience. I'd recommend it to anyone and, of course, I'd be chuffed to be invited back sometime.
