Episode 10 has been unleashed, featuring Peter Wells (fulltimecasual), Jedda Wignall (Jedda), Gareth Townsend (Quamen), Colin Jacobs (coljac) and Danny Bishop (uncyherb).

Episode 9's ad-hoc feeling went down well, so nobody brought anything to talk about this week. The full house (5 people in a little room with 3 mics, you try it) does bring some moments. We apologise profusely.

Have to say I think you should plan before the podcast. Going from last weeks not being as good, but I haven't listened to this weeks yet. Either way it's funny.

It just needs the person leading the discussion to have a lot of subjects to bring up. Then it works. That's why last week's was good, because anthony had a lot to talk about.

I think we should do a thing where some of the members can suggest subjects, and then those involved with the Pod casts go out and investigate those things. This way we would have a good informed Pod casts. I am not trying to take away from what you all do (it is great) but to add a little more substance to the pod cast I think this would be good. We should have like a theme to each pod cast (can have other news and bits and pieces) but each pod cast has a major topic that has questions (from the members) and answer (from the hosts) associated with it.

There are lots of ways to run a podcast IMO. Information is good but I like the piss-arse funny ones personally. I don't give a toss when people on the train look at me strange cause I am almost pissing myself laughing. Great way to forget about work. All in all, great job and thanks for doing it.

dunno if anyone noticed, but the podcast was released yesterday...

getting past the name, what did people actually think of the content? i thought uncyherb, as the elder statesman of podcasting round here, gave a fascinating insight into podcast production.

also, his down to earth discussion on wine got me to subscribe to his show.

I enjoyed the podcast and found it quite entertaining, as did I find Episode 9. I didn't mind that you guys didn't have a plan as the podcast kept me company whilst I was working night shift last night, which in my books is what I am looking for in a podcast. Something that takes my mind off my mind-numbing shift.
Good work and keep it up.

Nice one, as usual.

Agree regarding the transparent menu bar and shittier antialiasing. I think any situation where transparency is used, sub pixel antialising has to be used. Another reason to poo-poo the new menu bar.

I listen to a good many podcasts and I guess with all that's been said recently on these forums, I've tried to figure out why I subscribe to some and not to others.
  • Enjoy the informal, after dinner sort of conversations - not the full on bar type of chatter. The swearing doesn't really add anything for me.
  • I'm not necessarily looking for something I'm interested in, I'm just as happy to listen to something the podcaster finds interesting - providing there is some real passion there. Hence I enjoyed listening to Uncyherb talk about wine and like FTC I also will now start to watching/listening to his podcast
  • I enjoy strong points of view - I don't have to agree with them.
  • There is usually a strong leader that guides the discussions and moves people on at the right moment - especially when more than two people are involved.
  • I like my podcasts to be a learning experience as well as entertainment
Overall I think you guys do a good job, some podcast sections are better than others, but on the whole it's good

Anyway just my 2c worth
