The levels need a bit of work. Do you guys have a separate sound guy or is one of the participants doing it? I find the best way to set levels are to secretly start recording and set levels rather than saying to the performer you are about to set levels.
Futhermore did you use any compression?

Next time there will be some light compression and limiting on the master

And some nice (quick) stings at the start and end.

Very strange! Don't know why.

Fulltimecasual: is it on every video?

I was setting the levels, they were fine, just that we were all not using the mic properly (bar Marc).

No compression or anything at all done to the audio (I don't know what I'm doing, so I left it).

Mic technique is a pretty rare skill. It'll get better, i would suggest playing with compression settings though. There is a great deal of help at http://podcastacademy.com/. At least run a peak normalisation.

actually, just synced chasers war on everything and summer heights high, and they both have black bars, but the stuff i've converted with visual hub has white bars.

i hope this gets fixed, i've got way to many movies and tv shows ripped through visual hub..

so, are we recording another episode boys?

We are - I've just got to confirm with Scott as to when we can use his office next, hah

If we're going to inconvienience Scott we could meet up at your office perhaps?

Also not sure if it should be weekly or fortnightly.

Maybe VisualHub is doing something to cause it?

ok, cos no one else has said anything, i really think that the file size for the podcast is way too big. 64kps Mono would be fine for four guys sitting in a room chatting.

anthony, i know you've got fat pipes to your home, but i dont!

I enjoyed it. I like the length as it allows time and freedom for the discussion to flow and wander into unexpected side streets, something which would be lost if an attempt was made to cram it into half an hour.

As above the bit rate can be halved. I have a podcast of music at two hours long at 64kbps and it sounds fine. The file is still smaller than the MacTalk one!

If you want to separate the various sections with a musical sting how about using the different OS X alert sounds? A thought for tying it closer to the site may be to run an ongoing competition on here for member Garageband creations and use the best one as the outro music for that week.

Overall an excellent first episode which will ensure it stays in my podcast feeds.

Wow people really don't understand how the world has changed.

Tinfoil hat?

Yeah, maybe if I was talking about aliens, UFOs, CIA conspiracy, 9/11 conspiracy (timely!) or likewise.

However if you want to sit in your little world and think that your safe from what is happening on the anti-piracy front then keep it up
