I enjoyed the podcast, I am glad to hear more of the "behind the news" kind of thing - good analysis of the iPhone price cuts and the NBC pulling out of iTunes.
I second the no intro music - just get into it. It is rather long. What might be an idea, especially considering you want to get the most out of the time you organised to meet is to split it into 15 or 20 minute segments.

I liked it. Casual and open atmosphere. In terms of duration thats a hard one. It seemed fine as the dialog kept flowing. If is be longer then I think some might loose interest. The longest I have listened to is one of the twit ones ate about 1hr 30mins.
File size was larger than expected for audio.
Good work.

No need for intro music, but if there is a wish to have something, keep it to almost an into jingle type thing rather than a soapie-style lullabye..
I like what I've heard so far. I'll add another vote to 'Short is best'.
Good luck with it fella's.. Who else is in Melbourne that you could bring into it - what about macmate?

Wow i've been waiting for this.
I like the idea...
points to improve on in time; - add an intro jingle & outro jingle
- get the audio levels evened out a little
- try to keep the ramblings to a minimum
- keep it short 15-20mins is about right IMO
- why post up a mp4a? It makes the file larger and the podcast wasn't enhanced
- iTunes lists anything. There's no episode minimum. If you've submitted it correctly it'll be aproved and up within a day or so.
- how about some comprehensive show notes? It'll help SEO too.
All in all - a great new addition!
Thanks for improving my favourite site even more

Tell me, how far and wide do you want this Podcast to be known about?
How popular do you want it to be?

Really great podcast, I felt as if I was part of the group...Hopefully the sound can be improved, some people's voices were much louder than others. Lengthwise, maybe more frequent episodes of shorter lengths (15-20 mins?) might be better?
I really look forward to the next episode!

Great podcast, great casual style. It is a beginning and will mature overtime. Keep it up and some show notes would be great for us newbies and switchers.

The podcast has in it images, URL's and chapter bookmarks. That's why it's M4A, it's also 128k to make it sound nice. I don't think 64mb is too big of a file to really bother anyone. If there's a lot of people not downloading it simply because of size, I'll make a 64k MP3 available as well.
I submitted it to iTunes last night, so it should appear soon I guess.
Show notes - yep. I'll write some up, but I don't feel like listening to it again (I've already heard it a couple times). So I guess it will just be a list of the chapters. I'll have to take better notes whilst recording it for URL's and such.

I was too far away from the mic, I should have had it more forward - something to improve on next time

I hope it didn't come across like that - the AUSOM guys are good, just I think there is a large gap a MacTalk (or someone else, we aren't the monopoly on Australian Mac stuff) can fill when it comes to user groups and meetups.
