Default Aperture 3 (or X) wishlist

We've all heard the rumours that Aperture was going to be updated before Christmas and that didn't happen... so I thought that in the spirt of Tablet Rumours, I'd see what other people were hoping for in Aperture 3 / X or whatever the hell Apple call it.

But first.... my own wishlist:

Wireless library and vault support.
My library is over 125Gb and each RAW image is 20mb... storage is cheap, but I'd rather store it outside of my internal drive - Ideally I'd like to save my work to the laptop drive but when I'm in vault / library range on WiFi it moves everything to that and clears my temp storage space.

Geotagging integration
The ability to read the data from loggers and use it without having to resort to third party apps.

Faster, with less CPU drain.
Currently when I flick through my library I max out the CPU entirely - not good.

Editing ability.
I'd like it to bite into Photoshop a bit more... a few more bells and whistles for editing that doesn't rely on external plug-ins that cost $.

Automated default Project names.
Every Project / Import I do I use the same sequence - Year / Month / Date - Project Name. So why can't Aperture automatically add the year / month / date when I create the project?

That's what I can think of so far... so what's your hopes & desires for Aperture 3/X?

better photoshop integration and better integration with its own plugins. creating a TIFF copy just to do a dodge and burn is ridiculous. Also less resource intensive.

Aperture 3 will be the make or break for a permanent move back to Lightroom

Well I guess that not many people are really that bothered then?

Rumor: Aperture 3 release imminent?

I'm pretty new to Aperture but I want edits that I do in Photoshop to not create a new separate .tiff/.psd file and I want it to be faster.

And I also want it before my Aperture 2 trial runs out.

64 bit support? Probably a given though.

From reading the above comments, I think I'm even more glad I use LR2 instead.
I'm curious as to what Aperture 3 will offer though, but it would have to be incredible to sway me away from LR3 when that arrives.

Support for Adobe DNG camera profiles, so I can use it with my x-rite passport. No way I would switch without support for this now.

There'd be plenty of things I can think of but I have to say firstly that I really enjoy using Aperture. It's logical, it's easy to use and it's easy to think how to do stuff without the reams and reams and reams of tutorials and websites that LR seems to need to be a viable option!
Faster support for new camera models (which I know is built into the OSX - so it is reliant on updates there).
I'm with bartron on the Photoshop integration and plug-ins and stupid TIFF additions when working "outside" of Aperture.
I'd like curves - not just levels.
I'm going to stick my head out here and suggest a level of integration and story making ability with audio, photo and video clips. Yes, I use Final Cut Pro for that BUT I think Aperture could become a default holding area for the assets to make that happen and maybe with a click or two I could get some of these photo story assets assembled quickly and easily (and I don't mean iMovie for that either!). I want to storyboard stuff in high-res and with great accuracy and some level of ease over and above the finicky FCP detail.

I dont think LR "needs" reams and reams of tutorials. They just exist because it has a far larger user base. There are reams and reams of tutorials for windows compared to OSX, does not mean its harder to use. OK, bad example

I became quickly very proficient with LR without any manuals, help files, blogs or tutorials. When I tried Aperture, I needed more help.

Oh thank god! I'm not the only one it happens too. Tell me, when editing dose the loop sometimes become unresponsive?

I would like to see masking and layers. As well as HDR.

Yes, sometimes - mostly when I'm doing more than one thing at a time though.

Layers, masking and HDR would be welcome additions!

Okay... so it's out.

I'm watching the videos on the site while I wait for my download link to come through for the trail.

Freaking brilliant integration.... No GPS Unit? But you've got an iPhone? "Import GPS data from iPhone Picture"

I think that this will be the first of many updates about this update!

And holy cow... $99 US for the upgrade. I was fearful of what the AU price would be... and now I am glad I was.

$119.

$20 more? Is that all? Bargain!

The new brush tool tutorial is awesome.

My only complaint? I've got thousands of pictures I'm going to want to revist and "fix" using these methods.
