iPhone Maps app... crap directions Google!

Last night heading down to Attica for a wine function (thanks to Richmond Grove guys for having me along)... thought I'd use the Maps app and get Google to tell me where to go...

So I've got to turn left 3 times rather than just turning right?

I did sit at the set of lights on St. Kilda Rd for two cycles to turn right... but surely that's quicker (and easier) than the methodology that Google wanted me to use!

Is the intersection a no right turn at certain times, or was it previously?

I live right near there and can't say i've ever noted it as a no right turn at any time now or recently. I often turn right from Inkerman down St Kilda road. Sure, the light changes can suck, but there's no 'no right turn' there. There are turning right *off* st kilda road onto Carlisle and I believe Inkerman in Peak hour, but that's all.

I've never seen google do that before. I might drive home that way and put my home address into google maps and see what it does now

I'd love to see if it's the same at other times. Perhaps Google was thinking that I'd be stuck there for ages considering it was "peak hour" and giving an alt. route... but somehow I actually doubt it, and think the program doing the directions just stuffed up.

The bad directions mean Google has flagged the corner for no right turns, either all the time or just some of the time.

Wait until you see the walking directions, it wanted me to cross Kings Way a block down from the traffic lights and walk up the middle of the street next to/on the tram tracks...
