The official Podcaster app thread - Podcaster for $1.99 USD!

G'day MacTalkers!

We all know about that rejected iPhone app, Podcaster now don't we? Was all over the news everywhere. Even ArsTechnica & Gizmodo.

Well, I happen to be on the support team for Podcaster. While the original founder is from the US, I have assisted development ever since the webapp release in January of this year. But I'm from Melbourne!!

Well, I have good news for you all. In the wake of the recent credit crunch, we've decided that for some very special MacTalkers (and MacRumors & Twitterers ) will be able to get a copy of Podcaster from Cydia for just ONE NINETY NINE!! Yes that's right folks, $1.99 USD. That's USD, so PayPal will do the conversions, for you.
The normal price for Podcaster is $4.99!!

For $1.99, you'll also recieve the ability to install Podcaster up to THREE times on three devices, so no multi-purchasing I'd you have more than one iPhone! You'll also recieve great, fairdinkum Aussie tech support via this forum as well!

But, as always, there is a catch. THERE IS ONLY 10 SPOTS AVAILABLE PER FORUM/SOCIAL NETWORK (10 for MacTalk, 10 for MacRumors, 10 for Twitter @Shaun_R)

So you better get in real soon, because this great deal won't last long!!
Simply PM me your email address, and I'll send you to a very special, secret website where you'll be able to purchase Podcaster for just USD $1.99!!

Enjoy Podcaster everyone!
Shaun - (Aussie) Podcaster Support

Actually a serious question, because I haven't used your product.

Does Podcaster offer any additional functionality over what we've seen from 2.2 software? (other than existing now).

To repeat, I'm not thread shitting, I'm genuinely curious.

And Podcaster doesn't. Nice.

I guess this way I can download Kevin Rose's steamy visage on the go.

He's so dreamy.

Podcaster can download any sized podcast over any network.
It has a feed URL entry box, you're not restricted by iTunes DB, although we do have a massive DB ourselves.
And yes you can get Kevin Rose whenever Although that podcast might use all of you pathetic 150MB Optus cap :P

It's possible I was being sarcastic.

Anyway, I'll pass the details along to my partner, she'll probably look into it

I received a copy of your app for free from the developer, because I was one of the first people that registered for it, I have since then got at least one update. I like the idea, and most of your execution was quite good, but I could never get it to stop crashing, so I deleted it.

I personally wouldn't pay for apps that are not supported by the store, but I think it was very harsh of Apple to reject the Podcaster app, they should have let it through! Even if they have exactly the same function in 2.2, there shouldn't be any reason why you guys couldn't have had your app on the store as well.
