App Store - AU apps in US store

Hi. I know that Aussie specific apps are available in the AU app store, but I have a US account. I was wondering why the developers don't also put their apps in the US store. Does it cost them extra $ to sell them in the US store?

It's just that I have a US account and want some AU apps that appear to only be sold on the AU store. Is there a reason why the developer wouldn't also sell it in the US store?

Doesn't cost them extra - it's just useless to have Australian specific apps on the USA store. People will use it and go "THIS DOESNT WORK HERE IT SUCKS" and rate it down because they're stupid Americans.

There's also extra paperwork and tax implications for selling in the US store.

eljobso, if an American rates down an application due to the lack of usability in the US, I fail to see how that makes them stupid.

I have seen some US apps here in AU though, and some that are in Chinese

I have an app in the US store that only Australians would ever get any use out of, but I have had more downloads from the US than anywhere else.

I was actually mainly looking at IceTV. It's free, so there won't be tax implications? If it clearly states it's for Aussie TV programs, Americans won't even download it? But I guess some would and would rate it lowly.
