well it certainly is a niche item...maybe a bit 'o bling on the iphone is just what the accountant ordered as a legitimate software expense to offset some more taxes from your Cayman Islands haven :P

its real. but a joke in the sense the developer thought it would be funny to make an app so expensive that noone will buy it. hence the name

well think about it. its $1,199
who cares if its a joke? if people are stupid enough to buy it, then good on the developer.
apple are probably thinking the same thing. hence why they let it up on the app store.
if it was FREE and did nothing, then they would probably have taken it off.... because it is purely a waste of space.
this on the other hand, i think they would like to know how many people would buy it.... if any

The concern I have with this is if people have one click to buy activated and accidentally purchase this or their kids are on the computer and decide to click buy app.
This sort of trash should not be allowed on the app store, so much for Apple vetting all apps, letting junk like this in that serve no purpose and removing something useful like Netshare.
Hopefully they are not allowing it on the grounds of their 30% commission on the sale of this crap.

I came across an app once where the developer had written in his description, something along the lines of:
"Please don't buy this product, there are much better ones that do the same thing, I would take this app down but I don't know how to remove it from the app store".
Haha. I was tempted to buy it anyway!

I think it's more a marketing exercise, he says to check out his other products. And he has obviously got a look of publicity from this one.
