Tap Tap Revenge Review
This was the first application I downloaded for my iPhone since purchase, Friday last week. It's also my favourite out of my others, so I decided to do a review of it. Enjoy
Developer(s): Google Apps, Inc. © Tapulous Inc.
Price: $299....Jokes, it's free
Released: 18/07/08
Catagory: Games
Objective: Tap the falling circle, or shake the phone when icons hit the bottom line.
The Menu Interface
TTR (Tap Tap Revenge) has one of the best gaming app interfaces I have ever seen. Its main menu consists of options for: One Player, Two Player, Tutorial, Download More Tracks and Options. Once you select any of these options, a screen that looks almost identical to the main menu pops up, giving you more options for gameplay.
As you can see above, the interface has large buttons for fingers of all sizes. Also, when your not viewing the main menu, a home button is there to take you back.
Gameplay
Now the fun part

. TTR has a simple gameplay method that is easy, fun and addicting. There are 3 lines going from the top of the screen to the bottom. These are red, green and blue. There is also a line down the bottom of the screen going from left to right. Or right to left

. In time with the music, small circles fall down these lines and on the beats with the song, they will pass the line and you have to tap them and they pop. The more accurate you are when popping them on the line, the more points you get. Your points score is in top-center of the screen. You can also score x2 and x4 combos. From testing, I'm pretty sure the maximum amount of points you can get from one pop/tap is 75. You keep playing until the song is over, then your statistics are displayed.
Accelerometer Features
TTR even uses the built in motion sensor in the iPhone, known as the accelerometer. When playing, instead of a circle sliding down the lines, you will see an arrow pointed either left, right or up and down. When the arrow comes down the line and passes the tapping point, shake your phone to the left or right, like your hitting a drum. If its in the middle, shake it forwards and backwards like there is a drum behind and in front of you. It only requires one shake though. Thank God, you can turn this feature off as it can get a bit annoying, depending on your personal position

.
Overall Opinion/Rating
I will definitely give Tap Tap 9/10. Great interface, great gameplay, the only thing I would like to see is maybe a different layout when playing to mix things up a bit and some more songs. Apart from that, great. I highly reccommend downloading it from the App Store now. Why not? It's free

.
