Will installer suffer now app store is live

We are all waiting for the Jailbreak for 2.0 software and it looks like it has finally arrived this morning. I always loved the installer on the 1st Gen. iPhone. But here is the question

Will developers now stop working on apps for the installer as there is no revenue in it for them, or will they continue to grow both means of getting apps to your iPhone???

e.g. flickr up-loader free on installer, 4 bucks on app store.

The list goes on

Installer doesn't work on 2.0 yet, and it's closed source so IMHO it's on it's way to it's retirement

Cydia is much better, based off the Debian APT and dpkg systems

I think we'll see Installer.app limited to applications that are not allowed on the App Store - unlocking tools, VoIP over cellular, etc. I think any application that would be allowed on the App Store would definitely take that route rather than going on Installer. The fact is the jailbroken community is going to be much smaller now that third party applications are allowed officially and the iPhone is available in more countries. A developer is going to get a much bigger audience by putting his/her application on the App Store rather than Installer, regardless of any financial incentives.

Do you think Apple will revoke app store access to developers that choose to distribute on install/cydia
