Nullriver "Tuner" for iPhone/iPod Touch...

G'day all.

I've come across this app I'm very interested in, titled Tuner by Nullriver (the same folks who bought us Connect360 etc...) but before I buy it I want to see if anyone else has been able to load TripleJ (http://202.6.74.107:8060/triplej.mp3) perfectly as that's my main intention of using the app for.

I know it got pulled from the store since App store launch but it's back up now version 1.2 as they fixed a lot of bugs...

If noone else has any info I'll purchase it and review it

Having difficulty linking the app - give this a shot: http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/M...284205617&mt=8

Cheers

Thats timely.
I'm interested in building a tuner app, but first, can someone do me a flavour?
Please tell me what happens when you visit this m3u link in your iPhone.

(I'm still waiting to get an iPhone [damn]...)

iPhone says "Safari can't download this file".

Don't feel so bad about not having an iPhone yet... mine hardly works properly. I've given Optus all hell over the last few days for not providing me with a mobile service until they finally gave me a $50 credit on my account...

...still waiting for mobile service though

OK.
Thanks for trying.
I appreciate it.

Yes, I was supposed to get one on Friday, but alas, I now have to wait until end of next month
Maybe more bugs will be squashed by then.

Damn that really sucks, but positive outlook on the bugs - there are many to be fixed... all the better when you get one!

allRadio looks pretty cool (that it also gives you stats on where the stream is coming from (WiFi, EDGE, 3G, stream bitrate etc) but it seems to be lacking some basic features like volume control and being able to add your own streams... shame, because it's cheaper too.

So can this app access Nova, Fox, Triple M as well (would be good for the footy especially!)?

Looks like NullRiver Tuner is the only one that allows custom URIs.

Thanks for all the comments guys. I looked around with the recommendations of other MTAU users and I ended up purchasing "Tuner" - I'm very impressed with it! Also features a buffer indicator (looks like the old'eske nokia reception bars that appear on the top right hand corner) and works great with TripleJ (that said TripleJ's stream is very soft... could request they ramp up the audio level, perhaps?) but that's not a fault of the application.

I can do a review of it if enough people are wanting one after a bit more extensive use. If you want me to test a stream for you post the URL here and I'll give it a go

Cheers!

Would the tuner app be able to stream abc 774 AM station? I'm not sure how to get the stream address.
Thanks for the info.

There don't seem to be mp3 streams for 702 Syd, 774 Melb, Radio National or Radio Australia : see here. There are streams for Triple J, Classic FM and the dig stations though.

Unfortunately no, as they all use Real/Windows Media Player formats :-(
At this time Tuner only supports MP3 streams.
