Australian iPhone Apps

Just a quick question - has anyone found any cool Australia-specific iPhone Apps? There are lots of US ones helping you find, for instance, your nearest subway station or restaurants close by, so i'm curious if there are any local developers doing anything similar for Australia...

Australian-specific iPhone applications will eventually come. Remember the App Store has been up only for a couple of days now.

There are a few web apps floating around for train/tram details in Sydney/Melb here, here and here. I'm not aware of any actual apps though there have been many ideas posted in other threads.

(disclaimer: first link is to one of mine)

It'd be awesome if the telco's got around to designing an application that allowed you to check your usuage. You can check it on most of their webpages so they could do it. It'd just make it a whole lot easier. But I doubt it will happen with the way they are all hating on iPhones, making an app for it would probably be out of the question (more like for an extra $14.99 a month + a one-off installation fee of $19.99 you will be able to access their "premium" webpage for data usage, designed specifically for their valued iPhone customers *extra fees will probably apply and there's nothing you can do about it kthxbye).

By the time you get your iPhone Tommy, I am sure there will be Oz Apps available.

playing the waiting game for business plans and iphones to be stocked has made it seem like the iphone 3G has been around for over a month.

The urge to write an Oz weather widget is rising. Does anyone know of one in production for the iPhone?

There are many opportunities for localised apps, I can think of a few:

Movie Times
Public Transport
Weather (based off the Bureau of Meteorology, not some crappy US website)
