Just go to TrueLocal - Search Australia's fastest growing business directory on any iPhone or iPod Touch.

I'm hoping the transport companies can catch onto the fact that the iPhone is a really great device and make some very useful apps for it.
As I have said in another thread, the best transport info app for here in QLD would be one that you can go from your current location using GPS to a selected location using the Map like in Google Maps or one you type in; it would then map the journey to the stop to catch the bus from, and then the bus route and then to your destination; you can also check to see where the next bus and how long it will take, an estimate as all the buses and ferries now have GPS in them for the smart card

Maps on the iPhone uses TrueLocal for its business directory. So is essentially the same thing as searching from Maps, only you get a list of different categories instead of pins dropping on a map.

For those of you wanting/waiting for an iceTV app, it's coming!
I want a whitepages type app as well. how hard would that be to make? Wouldn't it be cool if you could easily make widgets into apps...

I wonder if any of the banks will follow the bandwagon and make secure apps (not just webapp ones) for banking online.. I guess would they need to make app apps?

There are rumours that there is an Essendon Football Club specific app on the drawing boards.

hmm I'm trying to hop onto the iphone developer bandwagon as well - I've d/led the free iphone SDK from Apple, and I have the option of uploading builds to the iphone but it always crashes.
Does registering with ADC (paying the $99) give you the 'keys' to upload apps to the iphone?

ANZ Bank said it was providing an iPhone-optimised website for its customers.
Personal division managing director Brian Hartzer said the bank was keen to harness the opportunities created by new mobile technology.
The site would launch with basic account management functions, Mr Hartzer said, and in coming months more abilities would be opened on the site, allowing transfers and account histories.

Lucky ANZ customers. Unfortunately I'm with NAB.

Yes, you need to pay the US$99 fee to be able to upload an app to your iPhone for testing.

Well, I just spoke to my friend who works at my credit union, and they'll look into this once they sort out their major mergers/whatnot.. So hopefully by next year sometime there'll be an iPhone app or webapp even for my credit union :\
Till then my banking will be done on the mac.. granted I haven't tried to use the regular site on the iPhone yet..

Weather app based on BOM data is what I really want. Wouldn't mind an app / optimised website from my bank (NAB) to do online banking as well.
Kudos to comsec, their webapp for share trading is very well done.
