Says who? I'm just waiting for an Email of confirmation from Optus and then they will send us one, as they have put one on hold.

Yeah IceTVs app looks pretty neat.
Both TiVo and FreeView are also launching in Australia soon, i'm sure there will be a another tv guide app available for iPhone from one of these vendors.

the telcos don't want you to have a usage meter, for the same reason they disable the call cost calculator on your phone ... they don't want you to know what you are spending until you get your bill.

There is a tv guide (tvGuide) developed by Orsome for new zealand tv program. The interface is nice and it said that future update will support more countries.

Given the few MacTalkers who created Australian widgets I'm guessing its a matter of time.
Weather Australia, ICEtv, and Degrees downunder and 3 widgets that I still use everyday.

I got my keys set up last night finally and deployed my first app to my phone.
I really want to have the time to work on some apps for Aussies but work is nuts at the moment and it's hard to get into iPhone development mindset when I've been coding in c all day as it is.

Slightly OT but I downloaded the free Berlin trip planner app, Fahr-something Berlin. And it's pretty basic but it has location finding to suggest your nearest station(s). Didn't work for me, obviously.

Yes, one based on the BOM widget would be great.

I'd started on a TV guide, reading an xmltv file, and had it working well under beta 1 (on the simulator at least), but didn't keep up with all the changes between beta 1 and 8 (the final), so I need to go back and get it going again. I'm not sure if it will ever be viable without a consistent source of xml data though (I could get it to work with iceTV maybe, but iSlayer will definitely make a better app for that I'm guessing). Plus I still haven't applied for the dev program.
Now that I've just got my phone running v2.0 via pwnage, I might be able to restart development hopefully. Though that NZ tv guide blows mine out of the water on design, so I might just write it off as learning and find something else to write.
