Needs US iTunes account for good iPhone apps
Just been comparing the apps on the Australian ITMS and the US. US has way more including those demo'd at Keynote like Loopt and ebay.
Sucks really, but I sort of expected it...

I was really looking forward to Loopt.
What could be the reason it not being released here?

That's OK for free apps, but not bought though

Doesn't it stand to reason that since the eBay app is only available in US then it only works with US eBay accounts? Would be of no use in Au if you could download it I suspect...
although if you check: Apple - iPhone - App Store you can see plainly in the top left corner eBay is advertised on the NZ page. Seems odd that they'd show an app you can't get here (or in AU for that matter)
Also the NZ store is down, i wonder why.

Check for Loopt or Omnifocus though.

Same is true for the Apple - iPhone page at Au... clicking the link brings up iTunes and then an alert saying the app is only in the US store.

Easiest solution is to open a US store account (as detailed on MTAU) and buy some US credits on eBay. Picked up US$50 worth for A$45 recently, and these can be used for Apps as well as music etc. Super Monkey Ball here I come!
Also very happy about the Bruji pedia app which is free. Will go nicely with my DVD/Book/CD pedias!

you can nominate where you sell your apps, so obviously they have chosen not to sell to the au market. Considering some of the paperwork it can take, of doesn't surprise me

It won't work.
It's got to be a US card for the US store.

Is anyone else having trouble playing the US content (assuming your US ITMS account has been setup) on the iPhone?
I can't play any of the content (TV Shows, Movies and Apps) that I've bought from the US ITMS store on my iPhone.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
EDIT: Tried everything and finally decided to do a restore. That seemed to help. So problem fixed
