(I just got back home with my $100 credit (2 x $50) which only cost $60 - cool!)
I just went to BigW Cumberland Park, and their iTunes cards are $50 for a $50 voucher. When did the sale end?

I was at the Big W in Westfield Garden City (Brisbane) and the deal was still on. I was surprised when she said $30 for the $50 voucher as I thought the discount had ended, I'll be going back in tomorrow to buy another one (or two, if my interest in the iTunes store grows as I'm sure it will)

Scrabble is available in the US store, but not in the Australian

I think we've answered the question: Are the app-store region specific: YES

Midomi is quite, nice interface, but the humming is kinda odd. I hummed "Ramalama (Bang Bang)" by Roisin Murphy and the top result was Avril Lavigne's "Sk8r Boi" WTF!

Ok, it was an obscure song choice....but come on!

Shazam did better with a grab of a remix of Dinah Washington from my mate's music streaming from AppleTV. Was very very impressed with it. However, will be deleting this app when the monthly fee kicks in!
