i was syncing my iphone to itunes and i was updating the software.
and all my iphone has on it was the i tunes logo and the connection cord

and it says i have to restore this iphone before it can be used with itunes.
i can do absolutely nothing with my iphone but starre at the connection cord pointing to the itunes logo.

HAVE I FULLY WRECKED MY IPHONE !!!!!!???

what can i do?
is there somewhere i can take it to get it fixed? but will the erase all my contatcs/text messages/song etc.
????

oh, by the way; its an older version of the iphone. not the 3G.. as i got it before it came out here in australia?
would that make any difffernence

Restore you iPhone using iTunes.

Don't worry, all you data, including contacts, music, photos etc are backed up on your computer and should be automatically restored to your phone.

EDIT: I'm not to sure if this will work with an older iPhone as I am assuming you had to jailbreak it. My guess is it would and you'll just have to re-jailbreak it but I think it would be wise for a more experienced member to answer that question.

EDIT 2: I mean unlock your iphone not jailbreak it.

Sounds like you went to 2.1 and just clicked on update without reading. (e.g. "A new update is available!" then clicked Update/Download) which re-locked your phone and requires re-activation (the iTunes icon and cable on the screen), jailbreaking and unlocking.
