Hey Guys,

Is there any way to set the alert sounds for say an sms to repeat itself, a specified number of times or until you check your phone?

Update to 2.1. It has that feature.

Not a specified number of times though. Up to 3 I believe. And the badge will appear until you read the SMS.

I didn't realise. I just bought the phone and updated to 2.1, and have noticed the badge appearing until i read the SMS, but haven't noticed it beeping more than once. Can you turn this on and off or does it happen automatically?

There's no option to turn it off. It only repeats if your phone is locked, and haven't pressed close, reply and slide to unlock since the first tone. I find it annoying. There should be an option to disable it.

Thanks for that.

I agree, there are times i want to have it beep more than once, and others i dont, so you would think the best option is to enable users to turn it on or off.

It's only a matter of time before we hear of a relationship breakup due to an illicit SMS automatically displaying on the iphone, "oh baby last night was so amazing, ditch that bitch" or maybe someone losing their job after receiving an sms "Gee your boss really is a bastard isn't he". It really is one of the phones worst failings.

On the plus side, can someone please shadow Steve Jobs. He's bound to get a message "new macbooks shipping now".
