iphone 2g lock screen reboot problem

im having a problem with my jailbroken unlocked 2g iphone firmware 1.1.4.
when my battery is full or im playing music or when it is on charger my phone works fine.
but as soon as the battery drops below roughly 75% and phone isnt doing anything, when i lock the screen and leave it for over about 15 seconds, when i go to unlock the screen the phone reboots. at first it was flashing a white screen before it rebooted, but not any more.
i have tried using system restore, but i still have the same problem. i used zphone to jailbreak and unlock before and had no problems.
im hoping that somebody has some idea of whats going on as it would be good to isolate wether it is a hardware or software problem.
sorry about the spelling, i cant be bothered using spell check

any help is greatly appreciated

if i upgrade, what is the best program to jailbreak and unlock 2.0.2 as i heard zphone is suppesed to be crap for version 2 firmware.
also if this doesnt fix the problem what hardware fault could cause this

Maybe your battery is dead/not holding a decent charge.

That's very strange, I would recommend upgrading to 2.0.*

If your able to play music on it fine then it may be a software problem.

Hopefully it will be OK as it'd be pretty hard to find a local repairer for a reasonable price.

sorry to double post.
ive been looking into this problem for quite some time now and have asked an iphone repairer. they have told me that it is probably a software problem that cant be repaired with a system restore then tried to slug me for a new logic board. i'm guessing that the only bit of software that remains untouched after a system restore is the bootloader, correct me if im wrong as i'm no computer type person. that would then mean that if i could load on a new bootloader it should fix the problem. Is this what winpwn does? if so i will give it a go.
i'll keep you guys updated incase somebody has this same problem, as it seems to be a pretty one off thing so far.
