Safe to jailbreak?

How safe is it to jailbreak? I really want to but am scared to stuff the phone up, which I got two days ago! Is it easily restorable to an un-jailbroken state?

Very safe. Just download the new Pwnage, build a custom 2.0.2 firmware and restore via iTunes just like an original firmware file.
If you don't like being jailbroken, just restore using the original firmware and it will be just like out of the box.

The pros far outweighed the cons for me, and I am happy that I jailbroke my phone. Cydia and the custom carrier logos are worth it alone

Stupid question bit why do you want to jailbreak? Is there really a need with the app store?

I just jailbroke my 3G. Pluses for me:
a) customer carrier logo (okay, just eye candy but still cool)
b) wifi toggle, turn wifi on or off with just one tap rather than going into settings every time. This SO should be in the appstore or even a feature of the phone itself but so far isn't.
c) install SSH so you can telnet or whatever in and change you SMS tone and also email and calendar alert tones.

I did it with quickpwn on windows, it took about 10 minutes and was non destructive eg didn't have to resync all my data etc. Sure I'll lose it in the next update but no doubt it'll be back shortly after, and from what I hear my carrier logo and sms tones might even stay as well. From what I read quickpwn is also coming for Mac as well, yay.

Good to hear. I highly recommend the custom carrier logos, and quite a few decent apps are appearing on Cydia now. Intelliscreen is well worth its $.99 price tag also.

I jailbroke, but when 2.0.2 came out i reverted back. With the firmware being still a little shakey I think ill stay legit until the FW is a bit more stable and has less updates.

Other than that, It's worth jailbreaking IMOH
