Bricked 1st Generation iPhone. Help!

I was trying to clean out the data from my first generation cracked and jailbroken iphone running version 2.0 by using the iPhone's reset function. After that was done the iPhone got stuck at the start up screen (pineapple) and hung. I tried restarting it several times but it was the same result - it would not get past pineapple.

I tried restoring with iTunes and there wasn't a way to just restore and not upgrade 2.0.1. So at the end of all that I got a bricked iPhone.

Can anyone suggest an unbricking solution for this?

I'll try that. But I thought that pwning required an already unlocked phone to start with for the restore?
