optus 'yes plan' balance info...how to get

hey guys

I am on the optus iPhone $29 a month plan (not the cap)
I am wondering how to check my remaining balance/usage..like is there a number I can call? For some reason I can't configure it online even tho I have a 14 digit account number, I think because I bought my iphone as a buisness and it won't let me configure usage things online...

So basically can anyone tell me an alternative and relatively fast way to check my balance, such as a phone number.

Please reply soon!

No such thing exists

The whole point is so you go over it and start spending more. They don't want you to know how much you've used.

There is an online usage thing, but I don't think it's that up to date.

Optus prepaid can text 'Bal' to 9999 . Maybe by some crazy chance it'll work?

I've tried testing balance it doesn't work.

I've heard of people calling optus and being told their balance...

Do you know where on the Optus site it is? I'm probably missing something bleedingly obvious, but I can't find it...

This has been asked over and over and over and over and over and over, and I'm sorry if I'm sounding harsh here but honestly, it's in every 'Optus' thread on MacTalk. There's nothing specific to any type of plan. We're all in the same boat. So here's the low down (and I hope people read this instead of creating more threads about the same problem)

Optus' online system sucks. Online balance only shows raw data, without plan discounts applied. You can work it out manually if you want to, adding up the costs for usage, taking that from the total, finding out how many free txts you have and taking those from the total, etc, but this isn't recommended as more often than not you'll turn up a number that's different to what you'll get on your bill.

Some people can't even get that far because they're on the old billing system, with an 8 digit number, and get a message that more or less says "Sorry, your account is still being set up".

A few people have been successful in finding out what their remaining usage/call costs are by calling Optus customer support, but I'm personally not bothering with it because I wouldn't trust Optus as far as I could throw them when it comes to finding out information. Other people haven't even been given an answer other than "sorry, we don't have access to that information".

We're all in the same boat. It sucks BIG time, but we all signed the contract where I'm quite sure it stated we would not have the ability to check our usage, so unfortunately we're stuck with it until Optus decide to launch their usage checking system, which (if you have any faith in Optus at all) has been stated as 'a few months time'.

sucks for us I guess. I guess I'll just wait for my first bill and base my future usage on that

The inbuilt usage meter works well for data. Settings>General>usage
