How do you Block SMS pop up?

Does anyone know how to block the SMS pop up on the iPhone 3G?
This is so annoying when someone else is looking at photos or internet on your iPhone and then the SMS pops up with the message for all to see. Not good for privacy. I have trawled the net looking for a solution. The passcode/disable sms preview doesn't work if the phone is in use or on the home screen... only if it is in sleep mode, so that is no good. Other forums speak of APPs such as PYSL and iBlacklist, but they are not in the APP store and I cannot find out where to get them from. Does anyone have a solution for this? Apart from the privacy issue, it is so damn annoying when using other apps and texts just keep popping on to the screen.

Thanks white iPhone, why didn't I think of that! Problem solved. In fact I should post it in response to the thousands of other people in the world who want a solution for this. <end sarcasm>.
Why would you even bother replying to my post with that response? Go back to the grill and cook up some Big Macs you squeezer.

Hey craig, what exactly are you on about mate? Does having only 7 posts somehow make what I asked irrelevant? I had a legit question asking for help and got a purely smart arse response. What possible reason, would White iPhone have for responding to my post with that stupid answer, other than to be a smart arse? I should have known better than to post something on a forum... they are always full of people getting up tight about such correspondence.

The fact that you even bothered to respond to my post... not with anything constructive, but to "chip" me about alienating myself from the community just reinforces the fact that I don't have any fear of being alienated by the likes of you.

Requires a jailbreak and Installer (and money) AFAIK:
RiP Dev: Kate - previously known as Caterpillar.
Look under Privacy there.

What he is saying is correct, you aren't making any friends and what WhiteiPhone has said is the only solution available to your problem.

Mate i will personally not be looking at any of your threads from now on, i think you will find what i said to be correct, looks like it was backed up by watters as well.

You mention above that you dont know why you bothered posting it on a forum, good one, why did you. My advice would be to leave the forum and use google, then you cannot get petty and shitty about things when advice is given. Google byeeeeeeeeeeeee

Turn on Passcode Lock. Then you can turn off Show SMS Preview.

Jaffles knows about this. It doesn't solve the problem when the phone is in use.

There was another similar thread on this topic. There is no solution other than the passcode lock which is only a semi-solution. I think Apple can improve this, so all those in favour of it should probably speak up about it. Personally, I think SMS should be able to work exactly like email, with just the little red badge showing the number of unread messages. Everyone likes their notifications in different ways.

Ha ha ha. Watters and craigd... the schoolyard bullies of MacTalk. And to the others who responded to my first question. Thanks, it is much appreciated. Seems there are quite a few people wanting to turn that sms thing off, I have since been looking all over the web and it appears it can't be done at the moment.
Cheers,
Jaffles

Nobody was doubting the relevance of your question, more your TWAT attitude.

Nice. Real nice. I'd call it defending onesself against smart arse comments, not anything to do with his attitude. The dude just wanted a genuine answer. Now, lets all put our feelings aside and play nice now, okay? No need for schoolyard retorts.
