App Synchronisation with iTunes on the Mac

I've downloaded some apps directly from the App Store on my iPhone: Remote, Evernote, Facebook, Twitterific and Monkey Ball

However only Remote, Facebook and Twitterific are showing in my iTunes Applications folder on my mac.

I've synchronised twice since I downloaded Evernote and Monkey Ball, but they didn't seem to get transferred over.

When I selected Store -> Check for purchases on iTunes on the Mac it said there was nothing else to download.

Obviously I don't mind about the free apps, but having paid for Monkey Ball I'm keen to see it backed up on the Mac in case anything happens.

Any idea how I can get the apps syncing again properly?

Thanks

Tom

Is "Sync Applications" selected, in the Applications tab on your iPhone (as viewed by iTunes when connected)?

Yup, and only the three apps I mentioned show up.

I had this same problem on my wifes MacBook. Found a tune in iTunes that was purchased using the same account, attempted to play it and it prompted for iTunes account info (same one used to purchase the app), then entered details to authorize the track.

I then went into iTunes prefs, Syncing and removed the last backup as shown from the iPhone.

Then plugged in the iPhone again after ejecting it. Then hit the Sync button to manually do it. Then everything synced including the app in question that couldn't be moved across.

No idea what fixed it, but this is what I did and it seemed to work.

Great game too.

Just tried that twice and it didn't work sadly. Thanks for your help though.

I also downloaded an app from iTunes on the mac, synced it to the iPhone and it went over fine. I was hoping that would update all the apps and move them to the mac, but no.

Oh well, I don't think it matters too much - and it's only $12 or whatever if I do lose the one I paid for.

If anyone is interested I just found the solution to this. There's an option to manually transfer apps in the iTunes menu:

File -> Transfer Purchases from iPhone

You have to have the iPhone plugged in for that to appear on the menu, and then it works.
