iPhone wi-fi - receiving wifi but cannot connect to server
Hey all,

I just received an iPhone for my birthday, and I'm having a wifi problem that I can't resolve. I can connect to my wifi network (which has a WEP key) which is all good, but when I go to Safari or Mail I get "cannot connect to server" message.

I have been trying to google this problem and when I look under settings under DHCP I have a IP Address which is 169.xxx.xxx.xxx which I gather means that DHCP isn't working, or that the iPhone isnt getting a correct IP address... but I don't know what to do from here!

I am with vodafone so have set up gprs, but obviously am worried about the iPhone constantly reverting to gprs rather than using wifi at home....

Thanks and any help would be greatly appreciated

Is your wifi network at home or somewhere else?

WEP will sometimes connect with the incorrect key i've found, but data will not flow
Delete the network settings from your iPhone and try again

Is your wireless router set up as DHCP? You might need to log into you router and check. Check the wep key while you're there too.
