iPhone WI-FI (Still Having Problems)
Ok guys, this is extremely strange...
I have EVERYTHING working on my iPhone, 1.1.3 ziphone unlocked gprs etc etc etc ...
BUT, my wifi is just not working ... i have taking encryption off my modem/router it detects it, just no matter what i try it says i cannot connect to the network, i have tried this on a couple of different routers but its the same no matter what ...
What could the issue be? would be nice having it work so i dont need to use my gprs to download prorams at an extremely slow rate
Hope some one out there can help me

is your network showing
settings > general > network> wifi > (network name)> do you have signal strength showing? > do you have an ip address on the iphone?
reset the phone, reboot it.

my internet connection does show up, i can be sitting next to the modem and it still doesnt work ...
no ip address on the phone is present and i cant manually seem to put one in eiter.
I have restored the phone and put 1.1.3 used ziphone, was previously using turbosim and it didnt work then either. so i dont know exactly whats going on

Any chance that your Router's are all using MAC filtering? (I know it is a long shot but it's possible)

If you don't know what Mac Filtering is you don't have it. So no worries.
First up - do you get asked for the password for your router when you try to connect to your wireless network?

No, you don't need gprs to be enabled.

Ok well ip address IS defined
Subnet mask IS defined, Router is NOT
Do i need to enter DNS details
as well as SEARCH DOMAIN details
And lastly CLIENT ID
???? those are the only feilds i can modify ... the latter 3

169.x.x.x is a result of no dhcp service being contactable.
So you are right on that part.
Check to see if your router's DHCP service is enabled (I'm assuming it isn't)
