Increase Volume Speaker / Ring Hack for 1.1.3?

Hi,

I have always found that the ringer volume was too low even when set to max. I have just updated to 1.1.3 and it's softer then ever before.

I tried to install the AudioAmp app, but it's not support on 1.1.3, So I edited the .plist file manually ( /System/Library/Frameworks/Celestial.framework/SystemSoundMaximumVolume.plist ) and increased the ringer/speaker volume value. Still didn't change a thing.

Does anyone know how to increase volume of the speaker for 1.1.3 iPhones?

Cheers.

Agreed, this is almost required for alarms/ringer...

I wouldn't normally recommend that but I did it myself tonight with quite noticeable results

Try at your own risk and post up results - keen to hear if it works for others...

Yeah, you may notice immediate results, but what happens when little particles and grit get into those small holes? They'll either damage the small speaker itself, or enter deep into your iPhone.

This really is a butcher style solution to the problem.

Yeah.. i wouldn't damage my phone to increase the volume - it's not THAT quiet to disregard the fact he phone will get full of dirt and stuff...

Look @ what happens to the apples mouse when it gets full of dirt and crud..

True, but mine's pretty damn soft. I feel it's even softer since i upg to 1.1.3. I would _never_ trust the alarm to wake me up in the morning, and the vast majority of the time I don't hear it ring, especially if it's in my pocket and I'm talking to someone.

It's not that bad

Once you actually do it, it is not so much removing the barrier but rather putting a small break in it. Not all of the holes loosen anyway, only about half. Apparently the holes only lead to a chamber which leads to where the sound is generated anyway, hence why there are issues.

1.1.3 does suck for volume.

I am happy with what I did anyway - my iPhone spends 90% of its time in the actual dock or on my pocket, I'm not too concerned about the killer dust coming and bricking my iPhone
