Ideas for you:

1. Upgrade to 1.1.3.
2. Disable security
3. Change security to WPA
4. Change your WEP password

To me it looks like the iPhone should have the router's address (10.1.1.1) as the router/default gateway, NOT as the DNS server, if you want to access the Internet directly through your wireless router and not through your Windows machine (sharing the connection with it), 192.168.0.1.

1. im not too sure how to go from 1.0.2 to 1.1.3 cause im afraid it will lock up and not too sure how to unlock
2. disable what? the password?
3. what should i change the pass too?

the thing is, its not a wireless router, its a wireless card, the wireless card is inside my pc in the pci slot and my router is only ethernet compatible

2. Yes disable the security and see if you can connect.
3. Change the security settings, if your router supports WPA, use WPA.
WEP is not secure.

If you don't have a wireless router, then that's the problem, isn't it? Get yourself a wireless router if you want to use wireless on the iPhone (truly)?

Otherwise what you're doing right now is just an ad-hoc sort of networking, whereby your iPhone connects to your PC, which is connected to the Internet via ethernet (wired).

That is, you're bouncing off the Internet-connected PC, from your iPhone. Not directly to the Internet, wirelessly (as the iPhone should be used). The wireless card inside your PC is just acting as the middleman between iPhone and Internet.

If I were you, I'd just set up a wireless network by buying a wireless router and there you go. I can't help you with anything else sorry. Good luck.

It is possible to setup XP SP2 as a normal Wireless Access Point with out the need for software (That isnt built in to windows) and have it run fine, i dont think the problem is necessarily there.

Uh, you do know this is a Mac forum and not a windows one, right? Huy's 100% right btw, you need a router. What you're trying to do there is create a "Ad-Hoc" network - creating a wireless connection from a computer instead of using a wireless access point. Ad-Hoc is typically slow, difficult to setup but most importantly has very low range. Good luck getting more than 5m away from your computer without a dropout. It's simply not worth it.

Go buy a wireless router. If you're connected via ADSL make sure you get a ADSL Wireless Router to keep it simple. If you've got something else like Cable, consider an Airport Extreme.
