iPhone (attempted) upgrade. Help!

Hi All,

After my initial anger at myself I'm now calm enough to write this email. On the weekend while bumming around at home I though it would be a briliant idea to update my hacked iPhone from 1.1 to 1.3 (I know, I know. Stupid right here!).

I'm not sure what hack was used for my phone I think it was jailbroken, not sure, I was so excited when I got I really didn't take notice.

Anyway while attempting to update, it $hit itself I think. It's asking me to plug in to iTunes and restore!

HELP!

Should I trash my phone?

It was fun while it lasted.

Just download independence. That should get it out of DFU mode.

anarchron,

Thanks for you suggestion. One other thing I forgot to add in my previous email was, my iphone is in 'restore' mode.

I've downloaded INdependence but still no joy. Everything is greyed out. At the bottom it just says "iphone is recovery mode".

Try not having iTunes open and unplug then replug in your iPhone with independence open. It should get the iPhone out of DFU.

I think iBrickr will do the same thing as well.

If it doesn't work i'd downgrade your iPhone and use independence to break out. That should definitely work as i'm fairly sure that independence will break you out of fw1.0.2 and fw1.1.1, if you can get down to that firmware.
