I have been losing my edge settings after turning on my iphone. after a search I found this link http://www.hackint0sh.org/forum/showthread.php?t=11362 My question is how to I get into var/ etc, is this thru installer ?

I have tried numerous ways - but the simplest - was to upgrade to 1.1.2

It fixes the problem.

I am sure the others will suggest other ways if your only running 1.1.1

Actually, there is a really simple fix for that.

If you add the http://iphone.unlock.no/ repository (to do so, just add http://i.unlock.no/ as a Source in Installer.app) to Installer.app then in their folder they have an "EDGE Settings Fix". Install that and your EDGE settings will stop being lost.

They also have a "SMS Fix" for 1.1.1 which will allow you to recieve text messages from companies that use names as the sender instead of numbers.

Thanks Jaffa, the fix seems to have worked when I turned it back on this morning.

There is an app in Installer called Services.app, its good if you want to / need to quickly enable/disable EDGE, Bluetooth, Wifi, or SSH.

I use it and I will never go back unless apple give us a quick option to enable / disable these things, which for SSH they wont for sure

I hope this makes sense
