Thanks bassmanbliss for the link. I had to repeat a couple of steps, but I got there. I now have an unlocked 1.1.2 iPhone. Ready to tackle my daughters iPhone now. :-)

Now that 1.1.3 is out - does this change the 1.1.1 upgrade to 1.1.2 using itunes?

Yes you'll have to get 1.1.2 elsewhere not from within iTunes.
And as for the 1.0.2 phone yes virginizing is required if you're going to go up to 1.1.1 then 1.1.2...

You can get all the older FW versions here.
http://iphone.unlock.no/
They are towards the bottom of the page.

It's very hard to know. I bought mine like that too. I ended up just having to experiment with all kinds of things to get it back to factory state.
Virginising and restoring any firmware should do the trick though.

Big Big Thanks!!!!
Hi Guys...
A big thanks for everyone in the Group!!! I didnt spend much time in tracing which method was used to unlock earlier.. rather i jumped into re-virginizing my iphone. I have successfully upgraded my phone to 1.1.2!!!! ... Thanks Everyone again...
Just wanted to share my experience here.. I have followed all the steps as it is in the guide and beleive me it was a cake walk..... The only one time my heart skipped a beat was at Step 4.4.. As the duration of this step was not mentioned i waited for more than 30 mins.. and then tried to go to the contacts screen(4.1 to 4.4).. I have noticed that it was downloading and at 74%... bit releived and waited another 20 mins to complete.. and tried to look at contacts screen again... to my surprise its still 74%... guessing some prob with my wireless network(may be).. i did a immediate reboot and tried jailbreak again.. This time it just took less than 5 mins... and i happily sailed till the end of the guide ...
Everyone might not encounter this, but i just wanted to share what i came accross... Thanks for the beautiful guide done by laughingbird, W9cae and Andrew!!! Great Stuff guys...
Thanks,
Neel

I am upgrading from 1.1.1 to 1.1.2. When selecting firmware do I choose a particular file in the firmware folder? The firmware was downloaded from the link up there somewhere.

Yes you have to Areal. The current FW version you would get on itunes is 1.1.3. So, to upgrade to 1.1.2 hold the shift in windows / option button in mac and click update as mentioned in the guide.. and then select the 1.1.2 fw, which you would have downloaded on to your local system.
Cheers ,
Neel

Yeah, I mean what do I select in iTunes? I have downloaded the 1.1.2 file and now I have a folder called iPhone1,1_1 and a .zip file and a .ipsw file.
EDIT: Got it. I renamed some file that was .ipsw.zip to just .ipsw and it is working. Thanks.

Really? I am in all sorts of trouble now and some quick searching makes me think that 7.6 is the problem. RIght now I am trying to restore my iPhone to 1.1.1 but it is not working. The problem started during the jailbreak when iTunes asked me to check with the server to verify the iPhone. The iPhone didn't do the reboot loop as it is supposed to.

I did mine on 7.6 with no problem. Are you rolling back from 1.1.2 to 1.1.1?
