Just re-read your previous post and realised my response made to sense.

It will only boot into recovery mode even when not plugged in.

I have a 1st gen iPhone which I have been I have had running unlocked with FW2.1. Recently the phone has been playing up a little - running slow, not syncing etc. so I decided to do a restore.

Everything was going fine until I got an "unknown error (6)" from iTunes. I have tried to restore a few times now with both iTunes and Pwnage but keep getting various "unknown errors".

Now the phone is stuck in recovery mode and I can't seem to get it out. I can't try to restore using Pwnage again as the phone won't turn off (it simply keeps restarting) and therefore I can't get it to enter DFU mode.

Any help in restoring it would be appreciated

Cheers
Is anyone able to help. My old Nokia is driving me up the wall.

This happened to my brother inlaw. We had to restore the phone. Do you have iPhone 3G?

Phone not working properly after unlocking it

I bought an iphone from the USA and brought it over here to AUS. My friend unlocked it for me and it worked for a little while until it started saying to unlock the SIM or contact network provider..

I have taken it to a number of apple and mac stores only to be told that they have no idea what to do!! Apparently unlocking an iphone is like hacking into the system and there isn't really a way to resolve anything that goes wrong with the phone after that if it was bought oversea.. but I find that very hard to believe..

You can only unlock an iPhone once. Do it again and you will stuff up your phone. Can iTunes detect it? If so, do a full factory restore. If not, your iPhone may never be able to be recovered.
