Mine is 88752 and was 1.1.2. As long as its 2007 I think its pretty safe.

I've got a week 50 on its way to me, Images on the box indicate 1.1.2 firmware, but the friend of a friend who works in the Apple Store in the USA who bought it for me wasn't even sure which firmware it was

All responses helpful
Hi guys,
Comet: thanks for letting us know that a similar serial number was 1.1.2. Has anyone found a 1.1.3 phone with a 8xx52xxxxx serial number?
Vortex/anyone: What is the difference in the image on the box of a 1.1.2 iPhone vs 1.1.3?
thanks

WARNING: Looking at the serial number is no guarantee
Hi guys,
i couldn't stand the suspence. I opened the box, turned on the phone and went to the 'Field Test' screen. Even though my iPhone is a 8xx52xxxx serial number phone, it has firmware of 04.03.13_G = 1.1.3. that sux. But just goes to show that you can't believe everything you read online...
I'll be waiting for a 1.1.3 hack. it has to come sooner or later.
thanks for your responses.

Okay - I've hit a snag. My iMac is being shipped here at the moment (4-6 weeks away) and my iPhone was synced with it.
My phone battery seems to have drained over night - and now the phone is demanding recovery mode and sync with my Macbook. When I hit okay, my only option is recovery and update (even though it says my phone already has 1.1.3!)
I'd upgraded my phone to 1.1.3 with the one posted by the 13 year old kid - I can't remember his name, but it worked perfectly.
I'm now worried that if I go through with it I'm going to overwrite the good stuff with the official stuff.
Suggestions?

now that the iPhone can be unlocked through a software solution it doesn't matter right now which bootloader it is.

So on the soft 1.1.3 jailbreak (via Installer) how long should I let the spinning wheel go before I force a reboot? I'm up to 43 min so far (not counting the 20 min before the spinning wheel appeared).

What does it say on the screen?
Spinning wheel? Well, mine said "Attempting to reboot.." and it had the spinning wheel too. I let it go for 5 minutes and decided enough was enough. I forced a reboot.
This was RIGHT at the end though (soft upgrade to 1.1.3) Official Dev Team method. Don't know if you should be forcing a reboot mid-upgrade or wherever you are along the process.

Well, now it says "Slide for emergency" because I hosed it I'm attempting to get back to 1.1.2 now.
edit: I have a separate thread going now - if someone could take a look that would be cool
