got my unlock sms from optus on saturday - unlock went fine.
Decided to Jailbreak today - few glitches since - crashed a couple of times and froze on the apple logo screen despite resets.
Everything seems to be working except that now safari will not connect to the internet - I get an error message saying " Safari cannot open the page because it is not connected to the internet"
Bugger.
Tried my old optus sim, same deal. wifi works fine, calls and sms ok, no 3g net access.
Any suggestions prior to my doing a restore would be appreciated.

I jailbroke my phone before 2.1 came out. The same thing happened to me with Safari not connecting to the internet on 3G. I couldn't connect to My3 as a result either. Wireless worked fine (except on the Wi-Fi at work) and so did calls and SMS. So i restored my phone and everything worked fine. Now i have 2.1 but it's not jailbroken yet... not sure if i will do that again or not. Wish I had some good suggestions, but maybe try doing a restore with 2.1 and try to jailbreak again? |

upgrading to 2.1 now. dont think i'll bother jailbreaking again for a while...

Hey has any Three iPhone users noticed that video links in Planet 3 no longer work since updating to 2.1? I like to watch the news headlines on my lunch break, but now it doesn't seem to work anymore. I get a message saying safari can't open the link.

I have had my iPhone unlocked from Telstra seemed to go OK. When I put in the three card I get no coverage. I have tried restoring the phone with the 3 SIM in to no avail. What am I doing wrong? Any suggestions?

wifi now not working
I have successfully managed to activate the 3G and can surf the web via 3G. But now, my wifi which was working perfectly fine before, is now not working. WiFI keeps reverting to 3G. I tapped new lease, i turned off wifi, i turned it back on, i closed the original connection and reconnected, i did everything accordin got mac site. I turned off iphone completely, restarted modem... now i don't know what to do. But what's more interesting, is in airplane mode, i've turned on wifi,and wifi not workign. ever since activtaing the 3G, wifi doesn't work. help?

Hi, Have you tried turning off data roaming under Settings:General:Network? |

Hey guys first post,
so what ever i do i can't get my iphone to show at 3G signal even though i'm in an area that i know is 3G, also it always says roaming not 3,
also does using three services incur extra charge when on roaming?

Roaming data is $1.65/mb - SMS and calls remain the same cost. Check to make sure the Enable 3G option is set, and try a manual network selection too.

Planet3 (anything on the three.net.au domain) is always free, roaming or not.
