Go ask Optus, Vodafone & Telstra, they'll be able to tell you how much the global roaming rates are.

Don't know about the google maps part, I know it uses a fair bit of data and there is no real local cache for it.

I was thinking last night:

How would iPhone 3G repairs work? With the first generation, you went in, dropped it off, and they gave you a replacement iPhone to use in the mean time while switching SIMs etc.

What's the go, with network unlocking and locks?

Does that mean Apple has an iPhone 3G that is universally unlocked? Switch the SIM out and off you go for in-warranty repair jobs? (replacement iPhones to use, temporarily).

Or will they just keep stock of Optus, Telstra, Vodafone, etc phones, specific to carriers? Since in the past with AT&T it was just sold under one carrier so that was never a problem.

And, lastly, where do you go to get your iPhone 3G repaired? Apple Store Sydney? Do they take repair jobs? Do they sell (or have replacement units) to hand over, in the mean time?

So many questions... sorry if they have been answered already.

Huy, I'd suggest that you take the iPhone back to the carrier you puchased it from and they'll handle the warranty service. Very much doubt Apple will get involved directly.

I sure Apple has there 'God' code for the iPhone, and can lock and unlock to and from an carrier. Hence can supply you with a temp replacement.

i would suspect it would be like if i broke my nokia, i take it to telstra, they send it in for repairs, and give me a loan phone.

Decryption the link to Q 25 doesn't seem to work. When I click on it it doesn't jump to the answer like the others.

Am i allowed to ask a question here? If not tell me and i will move it.

[quote]Regarding iphone Bluetooth Nope - Apple for some reason don't see it necessary for the iPhone to play with other Bluetooth devices. I have no idea why, but next time I run into the Stevemeister, I'll let him know you're disappointed.[/b]

I have brought a new toyota, and the radio has bluetooth built in for phone use (very handy, dont have to install my usual carkit). Does this mean the iphone 3g wont work with it?

This bit can be updated now too...
Telstra is on the Apple "Where to buy" page.

This is the perfect thread for small questions that do not deserve their own thread

In regards to the Toyota - Apple haven't released a list of what works and what doesn't work. Unfortunately, it seems as if it's just trial and error at this stage. It may work in your car, or it may not.
