How to: Apply an Invisible Shield to the back of your iPhone
Much has been said about the difficulty in applying the Invisible Shield to the back of the iPhone.
I struggled for half an hour before I tried the following, and the result is it worked pretty well...
- Apply VERY LITTLE of the application fluid. A very light mist will do. Place the shield on the back of the iPhone, removing any bubbles that form with a credit card or the rubber squeegee.
- Wait until the corners have little or no spray on them (it will evaporate in the air), then apply the corners.
- The trick, I found, is to use as little liquid as you can for the back. The first time I tried it I used too much, and the corners wouldn't lay down because the liquid kept forming bubbles.
- If you have any remaining bubbles, use the squeegee or a credit card, but they seem to work themselves out over a few days.
The result is a screen that feels much nicer to move about on, and a body that won't receive scratches!
No pictures unfortunately, but hopefully it's pretty self explanatory

Took me about an hour to get my back on 100%.
But damn it looks good when it's done properly.

yes, the left and right side via the piece for the back folding in, and two slivers of plastic are provided from the top and bottom chrome bits. Very finicky to put on but doable.
Only thing is that if you overlap by even a tiny margin the adhesive on the plastic becomes ratty and annoying after putting in your pocket/dirt.

Yep, i ended up purchasing a new one after a few months because of this: make sure you take the time to get it done properly the first time.

well ive had my first go and i have to say im not happy with my results.
The front was "okay" still had tiniest bubbles which i blame it on not enough solution as i did not have enough time to squeeze out the bubbles cus it all set in and dried in a few seconds before i get to do it.
The 2 sides are nearly impossible to do, i ended up with one good side and one bad side. Again, make sure u have as little solution as humanly possible. If you end up with too many, jus wait for it to dry a bit or else the corners will flap up.
The back was extremely hard, as the post above said to put as little solution as possible. I agree but i think next time i would put a lot of solutions in the middle so its easier to squeeze out the bubbles and for the corners/sides I would not apply it for 20-30 minutes so the solution will dry (making it super sticky and much easier to apply the corners so they dont flap up)
I am disapointed with my batch of invisibleshield, the front doesnt cover the phone exactly, a little short
Alot of the cover i need to cut cus it wasnt cut properly in the first place.
The shape isnt perfect as it actually overlaps with other parts of the skin therefore needs adjustment and make it look shxt.
But in the end its "ok" cus its much nicer than bulky cases.

The bubbles work themselves out after some time, so if you have any, don't worry.
As soon as I did mine, the back had heaps of bubbles, but now, a couple of weeks later, it's perfect.

I applied the front and it fitted quite well. The back on the other hand was hard. One of the flaps has covered one of the speakers slightly but it doesn't appear to affect the sound too much. My side bits look horrible but I will just live with it. I have noticed that the shield has started to lift on the corners slightly after spending 3 days in my jeans pocket. Hopefully it doesn't get worse. All in all for the price I am happy, but their quality control in the fit and finish department could be improved.

I bought the bodyguardz one actually, pretty much on the basis of the difficulty of application as described here, you get x2 (whole sets) for the same price as the invisible which offers ideally one and a half (2 back, one front).
I stuffed up the first application, both sides, second time i knew the difficulty of applying it so come second time, its on, and it's perfect.
I think the iPhone is so well designed, and not only would you want to protect it, but these sort of protectors are really effective because there are only so many buttons to go around, .

Thanks for that, I was looking at getting one for my iPhone (as they look awesome!), and this will help me a great deal.

Did you still apply heaps of the solution to the front? Or very little all over.

The more you apply, the longer it takes to dry. First time i applied i probably applied the correct amount, but kept moving it, later to find its better if you can't get it in a few minutes to just apply more solution.
I applied a lot on the second time, you can move it around a lot easier, just gotta wait longer and be more patient to let it set. The bubbles came out easy enough and it turned out perfect. But that's the bodyguardz, i imagine the IS is the same.
