Try adding installer.iClarified.com (with http:// in front) as a source to your Installer.app, then go to the iClarified folder and select SIMport.

I haven't used this app or this repository/source much so reader beware etc.

Long method:
Find another phone, put your SIM in, sync with iSync/Address Book, then resync iPhone with Mac.
This assumes that your other phone is supported by iSync.
I've never tried this method but it should work.

Even longer method:
Write all the numbers down, enter them as new contacts one by one (I did it this way when I first got my iPhone ).

Much appreciate your help Huy, been very helpful mate as always !

I managed to get SIMport installed and its now appearing on the springboard, just had to shut iphone down and reboot it, and magically it appeared hehe

Its not for myself, its a family friends iphone, im gonna wait and get the 3G iphone and hopefully not have to mess around with these hacks !!

Just a few quick questions,
If I am updating from 1.1.2 and unlocked my phone via AnySim 1.1, Do I need to virginize?

When in DFU mode and restoring in iTunes which button do I use, restore or restore and update?

Thanks a lot!

No need to virginize.

Click Restore.
Then click Restore and Update, following the guide here:

Quote:
4.4 When iTunes will tell you it has detected a phone in recovery mode. Click OK. Then click on “Restore”. It will tell you that it will wipe everything and upgrade to the latest software, and ask for confirmation. Click “Restore and Update”. Click to confirm whatever agreements and confirmations it asks for. (If you have chosen to skip the recovery mode, you should still use the "Restore" button rather than the upgrade button.)

I recently upgraded to 1.1.4 using iLiberty. What I've noticed is that sometimes a blank screen comes up with a back button and two buttons on the bottom labelled 'cancel' and 'accept'. They appear to do nothing as I've tried pressing all three. What is that screen exactly?

Everything appears to be working normally and all phone functions are fine.

Great guide! Especially the link to ModMyiFone. I had to redo my iPhone and everything worked perfectly. The only thing which caused me to panic slightly (as I was unsure) was after clicking 'go for it', it prompted me to disconnect my iPhone and reconnect it (before it started the process).

laughingbird,

Are you readying your 2.0 Software with pwnage tool tutorial?

I guess that we may not need one. I am assuming that there will be little if any need for localisation now?

Have been very grateful for your Tutorials in the past.

Thanks
Morgs

Yes, I'll be on to it in the next day or two. I'm hoping to do my phone tomorrow, and possibly a friend's too, and I'll write it up as I go.

Thanks for the encouragement!

I've been a bit slow on my iPhone upgrades and am currently still using 1.1.2. I would like to upgrade to 1.1.4 using the guide in this thread but my iTunes is now running on 7.7.1. Will I still be able to use the 1.1.4 guide using this version of iTunes? Many thanks in advance.

Coogan you will need to go back to pre 7.7 iTunes. M8 why not use one of the later guides and go to FW 2.0. No need to keep dicking about in the past. You seem to keep itunes up-ta-date give your iPhone the same care.
